Online Sensitivity Calculator

Found this on the gotfrag tf2 forum; no idea as to credit. Calcs most of the useful info one might want regarding their mouse movements etc.

http://www.notalent.org/sensitivity/sensitivity.htm

And the obligatory stat dump:

Degrees Per Inch: 52.8
Degrees Per Centimeter: 20.8
Inches Per 360: 6.8
Centimeters Per 360: 17.3

Just upped mine, from 0.7 to 1:

Degrees Per Inch 39.6
Degrees Per Centimeter 15.6
Inches Per 360 9.1
Centimeters Per 360 23.1

Degrees Per Inch: 24.9
Degrees Per Centimeter: 9.8
Inches Per 360: 14.5
Centimeters Per 360: 36.7

Degrees Per Inch 173.3
Degrees Per Centimeter 68.2
Inches Per 360 2.1
Centimeters Per 360 5.3

Degrees Per Inch 35.2
Degrees Per Centimeter 13.9
Inches Per 360 10.2
Centimeters Per 360 25.9

Unless OB engine is slightly different the results are not accurate for me at least. I recently measured the distance and its 19CM as oppose to 21.3that this calc figures out.

lol

Degrees Per Inch 17.6
Degrees Per Centimeter 6.9
Inches Per 360 20.5
Centimeters Per 360 52.2

Might have mine set a bit too low…

Nice find Ko

The results on this do not work for me did any of you guys verify what it was saying? Says 2 cm for me I am at way more than that.

Fairly sure the calc assumes you use os control for base sensitivity, and have driver level sensitivity controls disabled. Anyone using both will have to add some extra math to the equation to get accurate results. This also wont give accurate results if you use mouse acceleration.

Whats this degrees per cm/inch stuff?

Yeah, I figured it wasn’ t accurate, because I use logitech Setpoint for my mouse drivers

Just got a new mouse yesterday on the count of my lachesis mouse foot rubbed off and was getting seriously annoying drag, and because i wasnt COMPLETLY satisifed.

But the calc seems accurate for this mouse so heres wat i got.

Aren’t some of these way off? I mean for those who have more than 10 cm for a 360, isn’t that a lot? Unless I’m missin sumthin

Thats the thing I am, I have the “use OS native drivers for pointer speed and acceleration” checked.

Not way off. A 12"+ / 30cm+ 360 isnt as uncommon as you might think.

CPL mousefix / correct reg edits to remove all acceleration in place? If not, the slight bit of accel remaining after “enable pointer precision” is unchecked (or whatever its called in vista/7) could be whats causing the calc to be slightly off.

CPL’s mouse fix is known to work unproperly. If you wanna fix the extra acceleration enabled my some games out there, use cheese’s mouse fix(you can read more about it here). That’s the only reliable fix for windows 7 cuz anir’s doesn’t work on 7 as far as I know.

The calculator works properly (unless you modify something from your drivers or use acceleration).

Depends on your mouse’s DPI. The general formula for exact pixel precision (a.k.a move no more than 0.01 degrees inside the game per mouse “dot”, which is the least possible) is 1/2,2 (which is 0.454545…). That means no matter what DPIs you have, as long as your windows sensitivity is set to the middle (6/11), and you use m_yaw and m_pitch in 0.022 (true on source games, since both are sv_cheats protected), any sensitivity over that value will skip pixels at some point, and any below that one won’t. Therefore, if you have a high DPI mouse yeah, probably you are using too much. If you have a low DPI mouse, that might be the only way to avoid losing precision, but it would still be better to get a high DPI mouse to avoid such huge movements :stuck_out_tongue:

btw, my info:

Degrees Per Inch: 27.7
Degrees Per Centimeter: 10.9
Inches Per 360: 13
Centimeters Per 360: 33

lol mine is exactly the same as para’s (updated), its fine.

I allways thought u were a low sense user after watching ur frag vids, u have a very stiff style. Actually i gues u are, not as much as i thought.

Onti is right CPL mouse fix does not work for win7, There is an article on how to remove all accel from win7 but the site is down right now, iirc you have to remove the registry keys.
